Biography in date

June 11, 1934 Born in Prague.
Father Antonín Syrový, mother Františka Syrová born Rybářová.
Since his birth, he lives with his parents in Kralupy nad Vltavou.
1945 Experiencing two heavy raids on Kralupy nad Vltavou at the end of the World War II.
1950 He completes Primary School.
1950 He takes up work in a dental laboratory as an assistant.
1951 He successfully passes the dental technician test and continues performing this profession in Kralupy nad Vltavou.
1951 Knee injury during football. He suffers from its consequences throughout his entire life.
1955–1962 Successful representative of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in weightlifting.
1960 Placed 8th in the Olympic Games in Rome's in Triathlon.
1963 He ends his sports career on grounds of severe knee damage.
1964 He applies for painting group led by Mr Kuntoš in Kralupy nad Vltavou.
1968 He gets married.
1969 He moves to the North Bohemia small town of Cvikov with his wife, where he is offered a place as a dental technician, a career which he carries on until his retirement.
1970 His daughter Catherine is born.
1972 He lost 56 kg of weight within 6 months; recreational running has become his hobby.
1973 He gets divorced and stays alone for the rest of his life.
1973 He runs his first marathon.
1970–1980 He begins to perform his creative artistic work – African masks, woodwork, drawing, creations with wax and tin.
1990 Retirement and disability pensions with knee arthrosis and severe cardiac neurosis.
1990 He fully develops his creative work – assemblage becomes his main artistic expression. At the same time, he suffers from severe depression and insomnia.
2007 Private exhibition organized with the help of weightlifter friends at the City Museum in Kralupy nad Vltavou.
2007 Extreme deterioration of his health; he ceases to perform any creative artistic work.
November 2009 Shooting of a short film establishing his profile „Vaclav Syrový’s children “.
March 25, 2010 He dies in a hospice in Nový Bor.
